The Classics List Community Chat Is Now Open
A new space for readers to connect, discuss, and share their love of classic literature
While I was sick with the flu, The Classics List saw a wonderful influx of new subscribers. Over the past couple of weeks, I have been doing my best to reply to all the thoughtful comments left on my posts.
I also want to take a moment to say thank you. Truly. To everyone who reads, comments, likes, shares, and subscribes. I never imagined that this small corner of the internet, built around my love for classic books, would grow into something that means so much. I feel incredibly grateful.
As this space has grown, I have been thinking about how to help it grow in the right way. One of the things I love most about Substack is the sense of community. So many of you leave insightful comments, and I have had brief but meaningful exchanges with several of you in the comment sections. It felt like a missed opportunity not to create a dedicated space where these conversations could continue and deepen.
So I have opened a community chat for The Classics List, and everyone is welcome to join.
I will not be able to monitor the chat constantly since I have a full time job and family responsibilities. Still, I trust that we are all adults who can keep discussions thoughtful, respectful, and open to different perspectives.
How the chatroom will work
Everyone subscribed to The Classics List is welcome to join.
Twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, I will create themed discussion threads where you can jump in and share your thoughts.
I will join the conversations whenever I can and check in regularly to keep an eye on things.
Community guidelines
To keep this a welcoming and valuable space for everyone, please keep the following in mind:
Be respectful and considerate. Engage with others the way you would like them to engage with you.
Sharing external links, advertisements, affiliate links, promotional content, or spam is not allowed.
From time to time, I will create dedicated threads where you are welcome to share your own Substack or latest post. Please only share your work in those threads to help keep the space focused and free from clutter.
My hope is that this becomes a warm and engaging community where we can exchange ideas, learn from one another, and support each other in our reading lives.
As always, I would love to hear your suggestions. Let me know what topics you would like me to cover, what you would like more of, or how The Classics List can keep improving for you.
